NAMIWalks 2016 Sponsorship Request

As the largest healthcare provider in the United States, United Healthcare has the resources to dramatically impact positive change in health care at the local, regional and national level.

My name is Fred Tomberlin and I am a volunteer at NAMI Colorado. I wanted to reach out to United Healthcare (my personal health care provider) to seek your sponsorship for our premier fundraiser: NAMI Walks 2016.  As the Presenting Sponsor you will receive significant editorial coverage on a regional level in a market that is highly competitive in the field of healthcare. This event is an opportunity to stand out from the rest and be noticed. As a Presenting Sponsor, you will receive Banner Advertising and an opportunity to speak at the NAMI Walks  2016 to a crowd exceeding 3000 or more This year, the Presenting Sponsorship fee is $10,000 and the Public Relations benefits offer more value and exposure than any event in recent history.  Our annual NAMI Walk will take place May 21st 2016.  We would be honored to have you as a presenting sponsor.

The Sponsorship is especially valuable this year because Denver is privileged to play host to the NAMI National Convention  this year from July 6-9th. Not only will this event generate significant buzz in the healthcare arena on a national level, it will keep the focus on our region well into late Summer . The momentum and awareness will ignite at the NAMI Walks 2016 and keep gaining momentum through the National Conference in July. Denver is so fortunate to have such a full roster of events this year that will sustain national focus on our city and region. We will not only elevate own profile, but also the profiles of our Sponsors who stand with us to propel forward the collective agenda of health care dialog, debate, reform , and innovation. The value added by an audience so large, that, quite possibly,  it eclipses any event related to health care in Denver’s history.

New Works Festival Media Round-Up

New-Works-Festival-230x300The following links were two examples of media that I was able to secure or facilitate with the help of Marketing team to promote the 2015 New Works Festival at the Historic Elitch Theatre.  The event was the first live performance for the Theatre in 24 Years.

The coverage created a major impact for the theatre and the event served the purpose of reintroducing the venue to Denver as a functioning theatre that has been part of local history for 125 years.

Denver, CO – Take strides with NAMI Colorado as we walk to raise awareness and fight stigma about mental illness. NAMIWalks 2016 will be held on Saturday, May 21, at Centennial Center Park located at 13050 E. Peakview, Centennial, CO 80112.  Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m. and the walk starts at 10:00 a.m.

The purpose of NAMIWalks is not only to raise funds, but to raise public awareness and eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness. There is no registration fee but walkers are encouraged to obtain donations from family, friends and co-workers. This year, we are attempting to make history on two different fronts. First, by exceeding our fundraising goal of $200,000. Next, by dramatically elevating awareness of NAMI Colorado and its programs and benefits for those living with mental health issues.  Please help us make history by donating, participating and volunteering.

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI advocates for access to treatment and services and is committed to raising awareness and hope for all those in need.

NAMI Colorado affiliates provide education and support programs across our state.  These programs have reached thousands of family members and people living with mental illness.  The trained volunteers teaching our classes, facilitating support groups and making presentations to the public have directly lived the experience of dealing with a mental illness or caring for a loved one with mental illness. There is never a charge for any of the programs that NAMI offers.
